This is a vital part of the process. The better prepared your session is, the easier the preparation will be when sending your stems for mixing. This is essential to having a smooth running process between you, and the engineer. Check our "Resources" page for a free checklist on preparing your song for a mix.

No tracks in your session are currently distorted or clipping
All stems exported in correct formats (Mono/Stereo)
All stems are correct sample rate/bit rate
No stems (unless communicated) have effects printed
All stems are labeled correctly
A reference track has been exported
You have put together notes for the engineer

Once all standards have been communicated, and you've verified all files for delivery, it's time to send them off for mixing. We use a dedicated platform for this process, so make sure you also clarify the file destination with your engineer. Some apps or platforms require you to create an account.

Review
When you receive your mix from your engineer, listen thoroughly. Take notes of things you like, or dislike. Then, request a revision with your engineer, and send a list of any adjustments you want made. We offer multiple free revisions, but that's not the case for every engineer, so be as detailed as possible. Once you're satisfied with your mix, it's now ready for mastering!

Now that your mix is completed, the next step is to have it mastered. We offer both mixing & mastering services, but some engineers only specialize in either/or. We also offer bundled discounts if you have us mix & master the same project!
